Storage of 3,800 References for Order Pickers

A company specializing in the trade of hygiene and cosmetic products, located in Île-de-France, consulted us to arrange a 500 m² warehouse. They wish to store finished products in a picking storage system** for 3,800 references in stock. For this stock, the company has boxes with different heights and depths. The goal of this warehouse arrangement is to prepare orders for shipment across France.

Initially, the client was considering storage at a height of 2 meters, even though the building had a clear height of 5.80 meters.

By limiting storage height to 2 meters, it was impossible to store the 3,800 product references as well as the quantities of boxes.

**: Picking storage comes from the English word “to pick,” meaning to collect. It is a storage system for order preparation, which can be automated or manual. In the case of our client in Île-de-France, it is manual picking.
 

LS Partenaire proposed a dynamic racking solution with an industrial mezzanine.

To meet the client's needs, we proposed providing and installing a walkway locker locker on two levels, i.e., the floor + one level.

We then installed pallet racking on the ground, specifically frames and beams, forming the structure of the industrial mezzanine.
